Community Guidelines
Lumen exists so feminine-presenting people can find each other without the noise of a general dating app. These guidelines exist to keep that space safe. Violating them, alongside our Terms of Service, can result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.
Who Lumen is for
Every profile on Lumen is feminine-presenting: women, femboys, trans women, nonbinary feminine folks, and others who identify as or present as feminine. This is the entry requirement for the app, not a filter on top of it. Misrepresenting your feminine presentation to gain access to Lumen is a bannable offense. We rely on self-attestation at signup and on reports from the community to enforce this. If you believe someone doesn't belong on the app, please report their profile.
Be real
- Use your own recent photos. Impersonating someone else, using stolen photos, or maintaining a fake profile is not allowed.
- Your age must be accurate. Lumen is 18+ only.
- Get verified (Settings → Get Verified) if you want a badge showing your photos are really you. A human reviewer compares your selfie to your profile photos.
Be respectful
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeted abuse, whether in your profile, in messages, or anywhere else on the app.
- Take no for an answer. If someone doesn't respond, unmatches, or blocks you, respect that and move on.
- No unsolicited explicit content. Image messages only unlock after a short conversation for exactly this reason.
Keep it appropriate
- No sexually explicit photos as your profile photos. Art and drawings are welcome: our automated moderation is tuned to tell the difference, and gives drawings leeway that explicit real photos don't get.
- No content promoting violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
- No spam, commercial solicitation, or scam attempts (including crypto and financial scams, a common pattern on dating apps generally).
If a photo gets rejected
Every uploaded photo is automatically screened before it's visible to anyone. If our system auto-rejects a photo you believe was a mistake (for instance, art or a drawing caught by the filter), you can appeal it for a human to take a second look (Settings → Manage Photos → the rejected photo). Appeals are only available for automatically-rejected photos; if a human moderator has already reviewed and rejected a photo (including a denied appeal), that decision is final.
Reporting and blocking
You can report or block any user directly from their profile or from a chat. Reporting flags the account for our review. We look at every report and take action ranging from a warning to a permanent ban depending on severity and history. Blocking immediately and permanently hides you and that user from each other everywhere in the app, including discovery, not just in chat.
Reporting someone in bad faith (filing false or malicious reports to harass another user) is itself a violation of these guidelines.
A note on meeting in person
We can't verify everyone's background or identity. If you decide to meet someone from Lumen in person, meet in a public place, tell a friend where you're going, and trust your instincts. Report anyone who makes you feel unsafe.
