Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Lumen, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Lumen.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Lumen.
• Lumen is exclusively for feminine-presenting people: women, femboys, trans women, nonbinary feminine folks, and others who identify as or present as feminine. At signup, you must confirm this applies to you. Misrepresenting your feminine presentation to gain access to Lumen is a violation of these terms and grounds for suspension or permanent removal.
• You must provide accurate information, including a real date of birth, email, and phone number.
• You may not use Lumen if you've previously been banned from it, or if you're barred from using dating apps under applicable law.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Conduct

You agree not to, and acknowledge that doing any of the following may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent ban:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Create a fake profile, impersonate someone else, or misrepresent your age, identity, or feminine presentation.
• Post content that is sexually explicit involving minors, promotes violence, or is otherwise unlawful.
• Use Lumen for commercial solicitation, spam, or scams.
• Attempt to circumvent our moderation systems, scrape the app, or access it through anything other than the official app.
• Share another user's private information without their consent.

5. Content you post

You retain ownership of the photos, bio, and other content you post. By posting it on Lumen, you grant us a license to display, store, and process it as needed to operate the app (for example, showing your photos to other users, or running them through automated moderation). You're responsible for making sure you have the right to post whatever you upload.

All photos are subject to automated and/or human moderation before or after becoming visible to other users. We may remove content, or reject it before it's ever shown, at our discretion if it violates these terms or our Community Guidelines. If an automated system rejects your photo, you may appeal for human review; a human reviewer's decision is final.

6. Safety

Lumen provides tools to report and block other users. We review reports and may take action ranging from a warning to permanent account termination, at our discretion, based on severity and history. We are not able to verify the identity or background of every user, and you should exercise caution when meeting anyone from the app in person. We strongly recommend meeting in public places and telling a friend where you're going.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we believe you've violated these terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law. If your account is suspended, you'll be notified of the reason where possible and, for temporary suspensions, when it will be lifted.

8. Disclaimers

Lumen is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, that other users' profiles are accurate, or that the app will be available at all times without interruption or error.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumen and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or for the conduct of any user, on or off the app. Your interactions with other users, including meeting them in person, are at your own risk.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Lumen after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
